The Water crystal garden is a sheltered pond where small wildlife can flourish. The crystal catches the early morning dew from the surrounding air and produces a healthy micro climate. The different ring parts in the pond contain different water plants. Each group of plants cleans the pond in its specific way. In the middle of the pond, there will be a pump, that circulates the water from the center to the first ring. The crystal is made of tent sticks/steel and wire fabric. The pond is 3 meters wide and the crystal has a diameter of 4 meters.

Malmö is the biggest city in Southern Sweden, often known as the city of parks because of its green city center and its verdant, popular parks. Behind the magnificent Malmöhus Castle, Scandinavia’s oldest surviving renaissance castle, lies the attractive park known as Slottsträdgården. This is the venue for the Malmö Garden Show 2017. Makan has been asked to make a model garden for this show in which water plays a central role.

The Garden show lasted three days. This photo was taken on Friday, the day that many school classes were walking around the show area. The children are watching the bees drinking off the fabric of the installation. On the first day, the crystal attracted many insects and even a duck family was swimming in the pond in the morning. The children loved to see bees drink from the crystal.
