The municipality of Oost Gelre wants to optimize the route from recreation housing area Marveld to the centre of Groenlo. The main goal of this project is to achieve a sustainable and in the vision of "City Groenlo" appropriate public space where the inhabitants of this area are closely involved in the design process. The route runs from Marveld / the tunnel at the N18 road through the industrial area along the historic train track, to the inner city. The task is to create a route that is recognizable for tourists of Marveld and interesting to walk.

The identity of the route is determined by the industrial area. On one side lays the NEDAB on the other side of the trail there is Meekes metal construction and the contractor De Driehoek. In between the industry area there is a canal with on both sides a green strip. The idea is not to be limited to the part where the trail comes but experience the whole industrial area. This is achieved by designing the fencing in a way that these are no longer a secretion, but a part of the total space.

The proposal is to dress the industrial buildings with art installations and vertical gardens. The two green strips in between the industries are connected with a bridge so the experience of this green corridor is one space.

At the point in the route of the former railway line there is now a car park, with behind it a neglected piece of forest. This railway history has the opportunity to tell the story to the public and restore a part of the old railway track. At the moment a part of the old track is restored and an old Sik loc and wagon are placed. The route lays on the old track, and only has a small detour where the Sic lock is located. The location is transformed into a bee meadow and is visited by many insects.

The bus station is being renovated, leaving enough space for a road diversion and a new car park. The rest of the area will be transformed into a new city park where the walking route is the centre.

The identity of this part of the route consists out of the historical train track. The route bends here and runs with a small detour back to the railway track. Along the track bee mixture flowers with high grasses will be sowed. Along the left side of the path there will be a community garden.

The connecting visual element along the entire route are silhouettes, representing inhabitants in a daily working life. They form the reference in black.
